The Railway Inn is situated on the outskirts of Burnham Market on the Fakenham Road, just a short stroll from the Hoste Arms.
The Railway ceased functioning as a station in 1957, just prior to the Beeching cuts and the site was purchased by Paul and Jeanne Whittome in 1996 who converted the station house into letting rooms. However, the Railway has now had a complete refurbishment and has taken on a whole new look, but in keeping with its traditional use as a station.
Jeanne has used her interior design skills to create another little gem in Burnham Market. The accommodation is now trendy yet stylish and offering guests sumptuous comfort but at reasonable prices. The old waiting room has been turned into a luxurious guest sitting room from where guests can walk out onto the platform which is soon to house a refurbished traditional carriage.
Guests staying at The Railway also get to enjoy the luxurious facilities at The Hoste Arms, where they will enjoy a sumptuous breakfast. The Railway has no bar or tea and coffee services but each guest room has tea and coffee making facilities.
Within the grounds of The Railway are 2 Railway Cottages and Railway House – each being a 3 en-suite bedroom cottage to be let out on a nightly basis. Click here for more information. |
